UC Irvine Political Science or International Studies Major?

I am struggling with a dilemma on what kind of major I should choose. I recently got admitted as class of 2021 for UC Irvine as a Business Economics Major. However, I learned that Economics is definitely not my thing. I am taking AP Econ right now and I don’t really enjoy the class. The subject is pretty boring. Because of this, I want to switch my major. Since the Business Administration Major cannot be transferred into as a freshman, I have two choices: Political Science or International Studies. Both majors I have equal interest in. If you can help guide me towards which major I should pursue, that would be great.

My questions for each major:

  1. How is the program for Poli Sci/International Studies? Prestige? Rank? Comparison to other UCs?
  2. What kind of future career can I pursue w/ Poli Sci/International Studies? Will it be easy to find a job with this major after obtaining my degree?
  3. What courses would I be taking as a Poli Sci/International Studies Major?
  4. How are the classes as a Poli Sci/International Studies Major?
  5. For International Studies: How are UCI’s study abroad programs? Is it worth experiencing?

Thank you so much. Any input helps!
