I’m going to avoid talking about finances because I sort of already have that figured out.
I got accepted to both schools, both with a major in biology. I have plans to go to med school, and I know that the GPA and MCAT are super important.
Personally, I would definitely prefer the California life compared to staying in Kansas. However, I know for a fact that getting a good GPA will be harder at UCI compared to KU, because UC schools, in general, are pretty rigorous with their grades. I’m concerned that even if I do go to UCI, I won’t do as well as compared to how I might do at KU. Of course, I know that both colleges will be difficult since there is no such thing as an easy college. But if I can get at least a bit of a better GPA at KU, I am not sure if it will be worth going to UCI.
If anyone has attended either school, can you guys tell me how rigorous the coursework is for a biology major at both?
Thank you!
