I am an Indian international student. Planning to major in Computer Engineering.

Which would be better ??

UC Irvine or Rutgers

-> UCI seems to be more selective and slightly more prestigious because of Cal.Many of my friends are choosing uci over purdue.I,ve heard the Engg courses are pretty rigorous at UCI (which is good).California weather is great and proximity to silicon valley will offer better internship and jobs opportunities.

The Comp engg courses at UCI are too much on the hardware side and less on the software side which is a minus for me.Change of major isnt easy. And I,ve heard UCI is a big commuter school and weekends get pretty boring.

->Rutgers is a great Research University established in 1766. Rutgers has a great ECE dept and the courses there are really good. Rutgers also has a wonderful location too , close to New york and Washington and Philadelphia. Rutgers has lots of international students and great social life

Though Rutgers seems to be underrated in the social media , people call it RU screw. Rutgers dosent seem to attract a studious crowd and kinda has an image of a party school.

After graduation , I will do Masters in Computer Science , preferably in a top private university , like USC.
