I just got an envelop in the mail today from UCSB saying that I got a regents scholarship for $6,000 for 2 years. Anyone else get this? This scholarship isn't really going to make me want to go to UCSB (I want to go to Cal), but if you got a scholarship to a school, would that be a determinant in making you go? Do you guys know how Cal awards Regent Scholarships? Thanks!

Thanks mojo. I have like a 3.9 UC GPA. But I really took a lot of easy classes to fulfill IGETC (Geography, Theatre Arts, Mass Communications). But I am still pretty proud of my efforts.

I still haven't gotten the Cal Envelope. I live in LA so I'm guessing it might take a while. I haven't submitted my SIR to Cal yet. Still waiting for the envelope. Also, I had some questions about my admission that I sent to my admissions advisor via e-mail, so I am still waiting for that as well. Are you going to Cal mojo?

um... i got the cal envelope and i live in LA too. I just ordered my flight ticket to Cal for next week. I am still not sure, but i ordered my ticket to make sure its a place i want to go, its 50/50 still.. u?

I've already visited Berkeley and I am in love with the campus. The students are so active and I really love the environment. Are you planning on going to CalSO?

There are a bunch of dates and stuff about when they offer CalSO. I would really suggest you attend because they let you enroll in classes (up to 10.5 units!). I don't know about you, but that is a really good thing. The last thing you want is to stay for like an extra semester or 2 just cuz you didnt get the classes you needed. You pay like a $95 fee or something, but I think it is money well spent!

I think they offer CalSo here in LA as well. I went to a college tour thing for my CC and when we visited Berkeley, the advisors there said it would be better if you actually went to the Cal campus for CalSO. I guess though, if you couldnt make it on any of the dates, you can attend the one in LA. Do you know any info about the LAX CalSo? When it is? What they discuss/offer?

I actually didn't apply for FAFSA (I know, sacrilegious). I just have some issues with my dad and the tax forms (my brother and sister didn't apply for FAFSA either).

I think I most likely will attend CalSO, but I guess first I should send in my SIR, lol.

oh, the LAX thing is an information session. Berk is coming to LA...and u can submit ur sir there. Finaid will be there too. I got a call from berk the other day, it will be on tuesday.

I got UCLA Regents but I am also waiting to see if I get anything from Cal. I got in but my finad was flagged to be checked :(. ARggh I have to wait longer to know how much aid I get for Cal.

I also got the UCLA regents and I'm currently waiting on Cal regents too. I called them and the coordinator of scholarships said that they will hand choose around 30 transfer students and notify us within two weeks!
