Regents?

One of my sons friends got a Regents packet in the mail on Sat. Anybody get anything good in their mail this weekend?

Nothing except for the invitation to attend a regional reception, which, as I've discovered from these boards, means I've been admitted. Did your son also receive this invitation on Sat.?

I also just got the Regents Scholarship packet in the mail. I'm planning to attend the reception in April. I'm quite excited, I must say...

yea i just got the Regents Scholarship thing... $6,000 a year, wow.
i'm honored, but the thing is, i want to go to UCLA.
does anyone know if/when UCLA gives out a Regents Scholarship?

^That's better than UCI.

UCLA has already given out its regents scholarships I believe.

norcalstadium - i'm in the EXACT same position as you

Daughter got her UCSB Regent's letter today.

I got my UCSB Regents package in the mail earlier this week.

I got mine today! UCSB wasn't originally one of my top choices, however $24,000 is a nice amount of money.

I heard from someone that a Regents scholarship is a full ride, but on my paper it says I would get $24,000. Do some Regents get more than others?

^Regents is full tuition.

Would you guys mind posting up stats and location?

The letter I got says it's a $6000 yearly scholarship up to $24000. Isn't tuition around $8000 a year?

My Stats: I honestly was NOT expecting this.
GPA: 4.4
SAT: 2080
SAT II: 790 (Bio), 730 (Math IIC)
Location: Los Angeles

UCSB Admissions

great GPA man, says only top 2% of admits get it. Congrats guys

My GPA is so high because I took mostly honors classes and only 3 AP classes, but thanks.

"up to $24,000" is proably meant for out-of-state students O_O". instate tuition is less than $10k

The $24,000 is over the 4 years ($6,000 each year for 4 years)

oh i see :P that makes sense

i got regents toooo!

UC GPA: 4.0
SAT: 2280
SAT II: 750 math, 730 lit
300 hours volunteer

from northern california

students considered for the UCLA Regents were already notified. to receive the UCLA Regents there was an application process. the "up to $24000" is included in the UCSB regents description as the award is $6000 per year for four years, or until you graduate, whichever comes first. the UCSB regents is not a full tuition
