My overall senior GPA is a 4.33 at the moment so im not too worried about my weighted senior gpa falling below a 3.

my main concern is my grade in AP Calculus BC. there is a chance that i will get a D in the class this trimester. obviously i will do everything in my power to make sure i dont get a D, but in the event that i do:

1) what is the probability that i get rescinded?

2) what steps should i take IF i do fail the class?

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP! :)

I emailed a UCSB admissions counselor about their rescind policy, and they basically stick to what they list on the website: you need to have a weighted GPA > 3.0, no Ds or Fs in any classes, and no dropped classes without notifying the school. If you can’t bring your AP Calculus BC grade up to a C-, there is a possibility you can be rescinded if you don’t alert the school immediately and make plans to make it up. I think you should send the admissions office an email saying that you’re worried about your grade, and ask them what you can do if you receive a D or lower in the class. Usually, if you let them know pretty early, and your overall GPA is high (and you’re only failing one class), they’ll give you ways to make up the grade, like taking a community college calculus class over the summer. Letting them know sooner is always better than later, so it’s good that you’re concerned now, rather than panicking in July. Good luck!

would ucsb go easier on me because Calc BC is a relatively advanced math course that most high schoolers dont make it to?

im undeclared in college of L&S if that helps

I’d email them and ask. They’re really friendly and helpful in answering questions! The email is admissions@sa.ucsb.edu. If you want to call, the number is (805) 893-2881.

thanks for the advice!

BUMP?
