UC Riverside Fall 2020 Transfers Thread

@uctransfer2020 so like 3 weeks?

Hey guys, so I finally created an account instead of just reading you guys’ comments. I got accepted to UCR back in early March. I’m a Business Admin major. I’m considering UCR as a back up if I don’t get into UCI. I never got my admission letter in the mail and is still waiting for it. I am planning to apply for their Honors and does anyone know if the honors come with any scholarships?

It does. It’s mentioned in the Honors program invitation email

Hey, have any of you guys been accepted after applying to the extended deadline? I applied in January.

Anyone who was accepted for TAG, just curious:

What does your provisional admission contract say? If you TAG’d are you guys required to keep your required TAG GPA and above or has that requirement been lifted due to the virus? I TAG’d UCI and my contract says to just keep above a 2.0 and complete some classes with corresponding grades

I understand it’s different for each school but I wanted to know about TAG specifically

I’m a neuro major, has anyone received their decisions yet?

Hey I got an email last night at 7pm saying congratulations on your transfer admittance and then it was followed by a transfer workshop sign up link, but when I check the portal i’m still not accepted.

Major: bio
GPA 3.12
Accepted: Sonoma State, Sac State, CSUMB, Stanislaus, UCSC
Waiting for: UCSD, UCR, UC Merced

Hi guys I was admitted a couple weeks ago, major is business admin. Currently waiting on UCSB,UCD,UCB,UCI,UCM, UCLA. Idk where I’m going to transfer to, but feel free to add me on ig:@abel_lopezm, I’m trying to get to know people before I transfer to see where I fit.

I have a question, although I’m not sure anyone will have the answer. I was admitted already, but changed one of the courses that I am taking in the spring quarter. I let them know and am waiting for their response, but how likely is the possibility of them withdrawing my admission? The course I replaced was not an IGETC requirement and the class I replaced it with is the same amount of units.

If it’s not an IGETC course & not a major prerequisite course, then it’s very UNlikely that they’ll rescind their offer.

They just got back to me saying everything is fine and my offer of admission still stands. Thanks for the response (:

@kyleesaurusrex Last year I was accepted into UCR, UCI, and UCSB(TAG) with a 3.2 GPA as an English major. Don’t worry too much :wink: I received my UCI acceptance in late April

Finally got my portal update this morning, Got rejected for neuro :neutral: , but did get into uci a couple days back so thats okay

You got accepted by Irvine, but rejected by Riverside… that’s so odd. I would think Riverside is your back-up school.

Some people do but usually it’s because they missed some requirements since schools like Riverside and Santa Cruz aren’t really holistic reviewers

@NonTradtional @hoshizora

Honestly, I thought UCR would also be my back-up but I am currently retaking a pre-req that I had received a W in, and that may have affected my decision. My GPA is also on the lower side (3.56)

asking for a friend, do you guys know if UCR accepts summer courses?

Hmmm I see I do know UCR’s pretty forgiving about missing prereqs. I probably said it on this thread earlier but I had a rep evaluate some of my courses during a college fair. I’m an Electrical Engineering major and I was missing a prereq that required me to take two more courses-Assembly Programming and Digital Logic. They told me my other classes like physics can be “replaced” during evaluation if I’m missing these courses (they had a document with each missing class they can replace using some other courses). At least you got into Irvine!

What does UC Riverside mean by rolling admissions?

The decisions don’t all come out on the same day. The first transfer students who heard back got their decisions at the beginning of March, and more people will continue to get their decisions throughout this month until April 30th.
