@Lucidbeauty
the overall gpa is all the classes you have taken during your college career. From lower lever to “high”
the UC transferable gpa is from the classes UCs accept for your major
. An example would be if you took Basic algebra that would be apart of your overall gpa and if you took calculus (which is transferable) that would be apart of your transferable gpa.
I believe the UC’s still look at both GPAs ??♀️
hope it makes sense.
Basically the classes that are " stepping stones" to get to the classes on Assist.org are not transferable
@mbruin92 yea last year was today around 4pm but they were a day late with Freshmen this year so I was hoping it wouldn’t be the same for us.
Last year they sent freshman acceptances on the 1st, this year the 2nd.
I feel like ours can come today, tomorrow (they do send acceptances on weekends) or Monday.
Hey everyone! I don’t know if this will help but I emailed an admission counselor yesterday to get some more clarity and this is what she said:
"Rolling admission means admissions decisions will continue to be released throughout the next few months, rather than all on one specific day. TAG applicants do have their applications reviewed first. For the most up-to-date information regarding your admission decision, please continue to frequently check your MyUCR portal as well as your email.
If you have any specific questions pertaining to your application, my best advice would be to contact your assigned admissions counselor."
I don’t know, I thought at least one person might find this information helpful. Also, I am not sure if everyone has the same admission counselor, but if you want mine let me know and I can give you her email. Best of luck everyone!!
@lucidbeauty just from looking at a couple of past ucr transfer threads, late afternoon/early evening for the most part. absolutely not definitive, but hopefully that gives you a peace of mind. don’t stress over about it too much!
@Wesley24 I heard they can, but I haven’t seen it. I’ve applied before and didn’t get any weekend ones, but either way, everyone doesn’t get it the same day. Last year UCR waitlisted me Late April & they admitted me so much later that I couldn’t even go
Hello,
Just joined and I thought I’d post my stats.
Major: Creative Writing
Overall GPA: 3.43 (Started community college at 16 and flunked nearly everything, but I’m 25 now with straight A’s so hopefully the upward trend is apparent)
Major GPA: 4.0
IGETC: Finished in the Spring
TAG: No, used my TAG on UCSC
PROS: Associates in English, Strong essays, Single parent
CONS: No extracurricular activities, both parents went to college
UCR is my last choice, but I’m still checking my portal constantly. Has anyone else heard anything new?
They admitted me in August & I thought I wasn’t going to hear back, so I made other life arrangements. But, I’ve taken extra classes since then, so I’d hope I’d be readmitted
If they don’t start rolling them out today Im gonna take one for the team and ask the moderator in the Fall 2020 UCR admitted students Facebook group.
This is the first announcement in the group so i’m going to take advantage lol “Welcome to the Highlander family! This is the official Facebook group for students admitted to UCR for fall 2020. Here you will learn about important updates and deadlines, connect with other admitted students, and get information on future events.”
PS. being invited to this group already has me thinking i’m admitted lol
Hey, thought I’d post my stats. I’m not sure if I’ll go to UCR, because I used my TAG for UCSB, but it’s still a very likely possibility. I really hope they release decisions soon.
My Stats:
Major: English
GPA: 3.6 (75ish credits)
EC’s/things I put in my application
Disability Student who also helps other disability students
Took a gap year because of autoimmune issues
Triathlon
Equestrian/Western
Dean’s List
Other Schools I applied to CSUF, CSULB, SDSU, UCSD, UCR, UCI, UCSB, UCD, UCB, and UCSC.
Ok sooooo I’ve been consistently checking myUCR and all it states is as follows: Your application is currently being considered for an admission decision.
However, I did receive an email prior to this that my TAG for UCR had been approved, any advice or insight?
