(Did a full scan of my computer and nothing on my system.) Anyone else have issues like this? What is the video of btw?

They must be receiving a lot of phone calls. Just received an e-mail stating, “Many students wonder if they are admitted to the major they listed on their application. At UC Santa Cruz, you are able to pursue the major you listed on your application, or a different major if you desire. First-year students at UC Santa Cruz formally declare their major no later than the sophomore year.”
Proposed Computer Science: Game Design (I chose the wrong major, but I sent the admission office an email earlier. No reply)
UC GPA: 3.79
ACT: 32
Decent extracurriculars and great essays; both related to major (according to my consultant, but he can’t really say it was bad or mediocre)
If you need more information, let me know.

For everyone who is worried about not being accepted to UCSB don’t worry everything is going to be fine. Being rejected from lower ranking colleges doesn’t mean you have no chance. Many UC’s also see if you are a person that will fit in the community. I hope the best for all of us.
@Gumbymom Thanks, so it looks like acceptance from waitlist is still likely to declare CS major later. UCSD i heard is doing things differently, if you are on waitlist, after you are accepted, you will only be on undeclared and hard to change to capped major such as CS.
@restAllgreen: Yes, to the above ^^^^ each school handles the waitlist and possible major change differently.
Not sure why it double posted…
S was accepted. UC GPA is not stellar at 3.83 and SAT was 1240. Hoping to get into UCSB but not holding out hope.

Son was waitlisted UCSC. Weighted GPA 4.3/SAT 1240. Good essays. Passed AP exams. What the heck? Denied: UCSD. Waiting: UCSB; UCI.
Waiting for: UCSB and UC Irvine, though the odds suddenly seem pretty low.
@ParentPrickly your son’s GPA was higher than my S, I’m surprised he was waitlisted. What is his intended major? What other schools was he accepted to? My S is also waiting for UCSB and UCI and I’m not holding my breath.
@ParentPrickly: Is your son’s Weighted GPA his UC weighted GPA or the GPA on his HS transcript? The only GPA that counts is the UC GPA (capped weighted).
Well, that I do not know. How do I figure his UC GPA?
