Just thought I would start a thread for UC Santa Cruz transfers because I have not seen one. I understand some decisions will be released on March 17, 2019, in just 11 days!
Hi, decisions don’t start coming out until 3/17. Unless you TAGged in.
Figured I’d post my stats to get the ball rolling. Super anxious to hear from UCSC, as it’s my #1 choice.
GPA: 2.97
Major: Marine Bio
IGETC: Done
Prereqs: Done
Local: Nope, Hancock College
Accepted: CSULB, CSUMB, SFSU
Still waiting: Cal Poly, UCSC
Lol the health services email made my heart skip a beat.
Why can’t they send this after admission
My daughter also said she ‘almost had a heart attack’ when that email came from UCSC about immunizations. No idea why they felt the need to send that before students know if they’re admitted! Also, did anyone get a similar email from any other UC? My D applied to two other UCs and neither sent that, even though it’s a UC-wide policy.
I couldn’t find a thread for transfer admissions for this year so I thought I’d start one. I hear that admissions decisions have come out for Freshman. Have any transfer students started hearing yet?
No, my teen only got it from UCSC and not from 5 others she applied to.
That’s weird… I didn’t get an email regarding immunizations. Interesting.
The email telling you to check the portal just now got me excited lol.
Stats
Gpa:3.72
Major:Ecology and Evolution
Igetc:done
Prereqs:done
Applied to UCSC, UCD(got in through TAG already), UCSD, UCSB
Good luck everyone, hopefully we actually get decisions on the 17th!
@tinedancer Yes, what the hell?! I just got so nervous for no reason…there was literally no point to that email lol
Why is this forum in the UCSC sub forum when all the other transfer decisions are in the UC transfers forum?
@jeetusSwo good question. It looks like possibly two different people started threads for this topic (see OP and first reply) and @Gumbymom edited one of them, maybe merging the two, so maybe she can explain?
Last year some people found out a bit early, on today, about getting in so post if you hear today. Also read somewhere that decisions often released at 4 or 5pm.
@spiritualgift Omg I’m so much more nervous now…
I like to “Breathe in Faith, Breathe out Doubt,” but it only works so long.
Considering decisions are coming out tomorrow, I’m wondering why this thread is so dead…
@kristinpete I think there was a lot of confusion as to which one was the real SC thread. I’m sure here will be super active tomorrow though lol
I’ve looked at previous threads too and out of the UC’s, Santa Cruz is usually a slower board in comparisons to LA/SD/etc.
Hopefully we actually get our decisions tomorrow lol
Looked at the freshman applicants thread just now and really shocked at the denied and waitlisted profiles. Really great GPA and test scores and amazing EC’s. Hopefully the transfers will be having better luck.
Perhaps the reason they’re waitlisting so many freshman is because they’re saving those spots for us. I don’t remember the number specifically, but I read an article that said the UCs are required to admit a certain percentage of transfers.
Hey everyone! Thought I’d leave a comment to bump this thread. Good luck! Hoping to hear back tomorrow!
