<p>@mrandall Well unfortunately under my “View Application Status” it only contains the e-mail that was sent out. So I am guessing mine is still pending?</p>

<p>However in the e-mail sent out it states that further decisions will be released as the month goes on, but on the website it doesn’t. Rather awkward to have two different pieces of information. Or it’s just be being rather impatient. Crossing my fingers for SC!</p>

<p>@andrew Just make the most out of it. I rented a car and went with a few buddies of mine. It was pretty chill mini vacation. We also went to UCD and stayed at Berkeley for a couple days.</p>

<p>Essays: So damn good. I went through about 9 drafts and I remember giving them to my English teacher to edit. He read through them, added one comma, and then threw the papers across his desk and into my face. He looked up at me and said I was a good writer and then just left his office.</p>

<p>Other UCs applied to: Berk, LA, and Davis.</p>

<p>I’ve been to UCSC many times. My now ex girlfriend goes there (3 weeks). I am in love with the campus but I still have no idea where I want to go to school. Hiring managers for JPL and Boeing told me they have never even come across an application from Santa Cruz so they urge me to go to Berkeley or LA. I’m conflicted.</p>

<p>I’m from LA so if you guys are down for a road trip let me know! I’m in.</p>

<p>Many of you are from LA! This is crazy haha, yeah you guys would love the bay area. It’s always 74 degrees here. You’re by the beach, Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and downtown.</p>

<p>as for visiting its certainly worth it I’m from southern cal as well but it was just an awesome campus and environment.</p>

<p>I’ve never been to So Cal before, but I always wanted to go to college there, but from reading what you guys said, it’s like the complete opposite on how you guys would rather live in Nor Cal than Socal XD</p>

<p>Is it really hot in So cal, or is there any negative things about it?</p>

<p>If you don’t like nature, then you probably won’t like UCSC. Some of the trees are so tall that they block our the sky. It’s so full of trees that it could be day time,but it would feel like night time on some parts of campus. You can’t even see some of the buildings because of the copious amount of trees. The air feels and smells so good and fresh. It’s the best air you’ll ever breath especially if you’re from LA.<br>
The transfer dorms overlook the Pacific Ocean and there is a huge field right next to it, so not only do you get a forest, but you get a huge open space; perfect for flying kites or playing Frisbee. The whole place just feels fresh. The only thing I don’t like about UCSC is that it doesn’t have my major, but that has nothing to do with how awesome the place looks.</p>

<p>@Chrono thats weird you’ve never been down here man. You should visit, during the summer it is ridiculously hot here, but the rest of the year I love the weather. I like warm weather though so what I think is good weather may be hot for you. If you do visit I gotta say I think San Diego is a much nicer city then Los Angeles so if you make it down make sure you go to SD. </p>

<p>@mermaker nice photos, It gave me a much better idea of how Porter is. I didn’t bother looking at porter when I was there for whatever reason.</p>
