UC Schools that offer a good accounting program?

<p>I want to go to a UC that offers a good program in accounting.
Im am currently enrolled to start my first term at a CC, and then wantto transfer out.
My plan is to obtain a bachelors, then a MBA, along with a CPA</p>

<p>I read that not many UC's have accounting majors.. but you can take courses that can put you into an accounting job. Would someone please elaborate on that?</p>

<p>I was suggesting UC Berkeley and UC Irvine.</p>

<p>I heard UC Berkeley doesnt actually have an accounting major, but they have a business school called Haas School of Business. How would i get into that?</p>

<p>I also read that UC Irvine doesnt have an accounting major, but they do have an accounting minor available, but is extremely hard to get into. What are the requirements? and is it any good? But nonetheless, I would REALLY love to go to UCI for a number of personal reasons.</p>

<p>Which schools do big4 recruit a lot of people?</p>

<p>Can anybody give me some advice on what i should do if i want to pursue a carreer in the accounting field?</p>

<p>Are there any alternative schools i should look into, preferrably in California?</p>

<p>Looks like USC is your best bet, but only go there if they offer you a scholarship that brings the cost to a level competitive with UCLA. You might look into some of the Cal States as well.</p>

<p>I’m going to give a non-UC but a CSU a plug-- San Jose State. My D (Boston College '12) just completed her summer internship in San Jose with a Big 4 firm (her preferred location since we’re from CA). She said that San Jose State was very well represented and that most of the rising seniors from there in attendance were offered jobs upon graduating next Spring.</p>
