UC Senior Year GPA Policy

Let me clarify this for all of you who are uncertain about the GPA policy of UC schools.

They require you to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for your senior year. That is a 3.0 UNWEIGHTED GPA. People who are saying that it is 3.0 WEIGHTED are liars. Trust me, my sister in her senior year (4 years ago) got a personal letter from UCLA saying that she MUST abide by their contract and keep at least a 3.0 GPA UNWEIGHTED, or otherwise her admission for the fall quarter would be revoked.

3.0 UNWEIGHTED.

for both the fall and spring semester?

Dear XXXX:

Thank you for applying to UC Irvine.

Please be aware of the following important items regarding your application to
UC Irvine:

The University may offer you admission in an alternative major, either as
noted on your application or another alternative major, if comprehensive
review suggests potential for you to succeed in a specific program of study.

All applicants must submit complete and accurate information. For freshman
applicants this includes listing all A-G course grades and courses taken for
the correct respective terms for admissions consideration by the filing
deadline. If freshman applicants have repeated A-G courses, applicants must
report the original and repeat grades for these A-G courses. For transfer
applicants this includes listing all UC-transferable courses and grades taken
for the correct respective terms for admissions consideration by the filing
deadline. If transfer applicants have repeated UC-transferable courses,
applicants must report the original and repeat grades and all colleges
attended.

If you are admitted, your admission is provisional and subject to your
successful completion of the courses you listed as follows:

Freshmen: courses listed for 12th grade B **

Transfers: courses listed on your application and provided in work in
progress (WIP) reports. UCI will only consider all application information
and coursework reported in WIP by the WIP deadline (e.g., February 14 for
F07 consideration).

For the Nursing Science major, it is the applicant's responsibility to
complete both the UC Application and UCI Supplemental Application by the
application filing deadline of November 30 and to ensure that recommendations
have been received by UCI by checking the online supplemental application
under the Recommendation header.

For majors in Dance and Music, it is the applicant's responsibility to
complete the required auditions as well as to complete the UC required
application by the filing deadline of November 30.

Also:

"As of yet the UC Davis campus has not adopted a 3.0 gpa in the senior year for freshman applicants. We frown upon D and F grades and would require that you notify us immediately of these grades. If you are accepted and decide to attend our campus pay close attention to your conditions of admissions, this are the conditions you must meet to keep your admissions, while you submit your intent to register. Some other campuses may have a 3.0 policy in place."

Cal/LA want unweighted.

sweeeet straight b's here we come!!

why are you being an underacheiver??
ahhaha, and i thought i was one.
and then again.
im confused again.

DO THEY LOOK AT WEIGHTED /UNWEIGHTED

BOTH???

what if it's like 2.83 in the fall and then a huge improvement in the spring?

maintain a 3.0 both semesters combined
and don't let your grades fall below C
i know people whose admissions were rescinded with Ds in their senior year!

i'm wondering if I should just drop stats..instead of getting a below a 3.0 i have no D's.just one C's and all B's....if i drop stats then I have all B's and exactly a 3.0....

Yeah I know that UCLA and UC Berkeley want 3.0 unweighted. I thought that applied to other UCs as well but I guess not.

so what should i do...?

so, combined? im afraid i might end up with a d in my ap eng class firstsemester, but i am guaranteed i will raise it by second semester. will uc's see the difference from 1st and 2nd smester? or will they automatically rescind you?
i dont get it, they dont ask for transcripts until june or so, so how will they find out anyway?

bump.......

bump... Merced wants Unweighted lol

What?

LOL...

Bump.

I need to know if for UCLA/CAL it is 3.0 unweighted for EACH semester or 3.0 COMBINED.

yea, is it each semester? cus i got like a 2.8 1st sem. that i am guaranteed of raising to at least a 3.0 this sem.
is it combined? first sem? or second sem?

somebody tell us quick please =(

it depends on the UC but my daughter high school statistics for 2006 graduating class admision only listed Cal/UCLA for 3.0 unweighted. Her school has 40% to UCI, 25% to UCSD, 15% to UCB, 15-20% UCLA and a lot more to other UCs. Large number of students were accepted to these UCs but only a fraction of them actually enrolled. Most of them ended up at CC.

From what I have heard, it's > 3.0 each semester. Otherwise everyone would just get a 4.0 first semester and then go for a 2.0 second semester.
