I don't really want to post this question here, but I couldn't find an answer online. Does anyone know if the doctors at UC health centers (particularly UC Davis) prescribe medicinal marijuana?

I have fairly severe nerve pain and neuropathy in my right leg due to some complications from a surgery years ago. I used to be on a ton of pain meds to control it but weaned myself off of them by my own accord because I didn't want to be so dependent on pills. I still suffer from the pain, and am currently looking for new ways of pain-management (mainly visualization techniques, drawing, etc.). I have smoked pot as a social, relaxing activity, as I'm sure some of you have, but I never really thought about getting a medical marijuana card until someone suggested it.

I know that schools don't allow students to have weed on campus, obviously, but do the doctors prescribe cards? I could get a card in Sacramento, but I don't want to spend $75 or however much it costs. I'm a little nervous about asking at school, since well, it is school...

Nothing wrong with asking the school considering your situation.

I too have long term nerve damage from surgery complications but I visit a chiropractor and massage the area almost every day. But anyways if you’ve tried these things and it doesn’t help (which I’m sure you have), it wouldn’t hurt to talk to the school.

This is an interesting question (sorry i have no idea though). Let us know what happens!

My guess would be a no. pot is ‘problem’ and I dont think the school would put themselves out like that.

I decided I’m not going to chance it. I’m planning to study abroad next summer, and I’m already worried if I’ll get accepted.

Speaking of studying abroad, we have to get health clearance to travel, which is one of my main worries. I’m filling out my request form now, but I’m unsure what to put where it asks if I’ve ever suffered from depression. I have had depression since I was a kid and actually attempted to commit suicide a few years ago. If I put that, will it hurt my chances of getting my clearance?

=/ Most likely… Try describing with a less emphasis…
