UC Ship Waiver?

If I filled out the waiver for UC Ship and got an email, does that mean they have approved it? I just want to know so I can decline my UC Ship grant. I don't want to decline it then find out that I need to buy the darn thing then go through the hassle of trying to get it back.

When I filed a waiver for UC SHIP a few years ago I received an email from the Ashe Center that it was approved (it was clear from the email) and I believe I received a refund shortly thereafter, though I can’t remember exactly. I don’t think I got an email (or at least I’m unable to find it) when the waiver I submitted the following year wasn’t approved, and hence it was charged on my BruinBill/some financial aid money covered it.

If you got confirmation numbers after you waived, and again in your email, it should be completed. You can log into the Ashe website again and review your completed waivers.

@phospholipase, thanks! I got the confirmation numbers in an email and I can see the completed waivers on the Ashe website. That means my waiver has been approved, right? And I can decline the grant to buy UC Ship?

Yes, you can decline the UC SHIP Grant. A reserve charge should automatically appear on your BruinBill to minus the charge from UC SHIP. Just make sure it appears on your BruinBill when you pay your quarterly enrollment fees.
