UC SIR Transcript Requirement

"3. Submit official transcripts from all institutions that you attended to the Office of Admissions by July 1, 2015. No transcripts may indicate dismissal, probation or other restrictions. Transcripts are considered official when they are delivered directly from the school. Late or incomplete transcripts may result in a withdrawal of your offer of admission. "

So here’s the thing, I was expelled from my first college (College #1) and went to a California Community College (College #2). Last fall, I applied for TAG to UCSB (College #3) and submitted my UC application. In my application, I talked about my expulsion in the “Added Notes” academic section of the application and talked about how I was able to recover and mature from my expulsion in my personal essay. I did my utmost to clearly state that I was expelled from College #1 and continued my education at College #2.

Two weeks ago, I was accepted into UCSB.

My question is, does #3 from the SIR contract (the quote I included) automatically withdraws my admission?

That’s a good question. I don’t remember the SIR having that requirement, but you should definitely contact your admissions officer.

Personally, I think your admission will stand since they should have known about it if you put it on your app. I remember last year someone saying that they were somehow accepted despite being under the minimum required units. When he talked to his admission officer after being accepted, the lady said that it was a mistake for them to have admitted him, but that they would stand by their decision and honor the acceptance since it had already been decided. I think this is a similar case, but what do I know. Good luck.

Hmmm, I believe you must be in good “academic” standing from all schools and you must not have money owed. Regarding anything else, I don’t know, they might not care. It sounds that way, and I think I read somewhere all they care about is the academic standing and financial situation.

Unless you raped someone or something…

Well, I don’t have any debts, and I don’t see anything about having to be in good academic standing from a non-UC campus.

So stressful!

I don’t know then.

+lindyk8 Much appreciated for your help though!
