I applied to UCI last year with TAG, but I was rejected due to some coursework mix up. I got into my other UCs. However, I decided to take a year off to reapply to UCI. Can I still TAG to UCI (second time)?
Yes.
@dannybui9 lol we’re in the same EXACT boat. Whats your major?
@Hafmanhafmazin UCI considered two of my courses equivalents, so they awarded 3 units instead of the 6 units. Leaving me short a unit for admission to UCI. I’m a Psych & Social Behavior major. You?
Wow, @dannybui9, tough break.
@dannybui9 ? What were the courses, out of curiosity?
I ask because I will be taking two courses that are more-or-less equivalent. I was told by a campus rep that I would be awarded units for both because one is considered a prereq and the other isn’t, but I am worried about the possibility of losing out on those units.
Yeah I also want to know the courses! I’m applying with TAG to UCI as a criminology major and will have approximately 62 units spring semester. I would hate if they didnt count one class and I was left with 59
@dannybui9 im doing EE…i finished 66 units and taking this year off too. I believe the second english class on igetc and a psych class on igetc could be considered an equal course.
Does anybody knows what this means? Under my articulation agreement for UCI it says
"In fulfillment of the requirements below, a single course may be used
only once. "
Without seeing the rest, I believe it means you cannot double dip and use a single course to fulfill more than one requirement.
I have a question: Most of the units i’ve completed have been through one school district, but I moved and am spending my last semester (Spring semester) and getting my AA-T degree from a different school from a different district (Going from Peralta to CCSF). When sending in my TAG application, under “Current California Community College:” do I choose the school where I earned most of my credits (Peralta/BCC) or the school I’m going to be graduating from and receiving my AA-T degree from (CCSF)?
Current means current.
@goldencub At my school, I took Math 10 (Introduction to Statistics) and Psyc 10 (Statistical Methods in the Behavioral Sciences). Weird thing is all the other UCs honored it and accepted me. I don’t know why UCI differed.
@boxandwhiskers I think you should check up with your school’s transfer center just to make sure.
