<p>I am currently a UCSB freshman, who applied to both UCSB & UCD.</p>
<p>I was denied admission to Davis when I applied, and now that I’m all the way out here (7 hours away), many family related events have come to fruition (money is now extremely tight, making commuting the best choice, and my father is ill), and I really need to be as close to home as possible (Sacramento / Davis area). </p>
<p>What are my options?</p>
<p>Can I finish this quarter at UCSB and then appeal / petition UCD based on new information?</p>
<p>Is my only option to leave the UC-system and go to a CC near home?</p>
