Hi! So, I really want to transfer UCs and study abroad. I'm currently in UCR and I want to transfer to another UC. I just wanted to know if I did go to another UC, would my GPA from UCR be calculated into the GPA from the new UC? Also, if I transferred into another UC my junior year and studied abroad for my whole junior year as well, is that possible? (Because, I would be applying for UCEAP at UCR, but leaving UCR that year as well.) Lastly, how many units must I take at my school to graduate? I want to study abroad more than once, but I heard that there's only a limited amount of transfer credit I can have. Thank you everyone for your help!

As far as I know, since you’re a UC to UC transfer your GPA would transfer over.

For EAP, I believe that it is possible. If you browse around the UCEAP websites and find the UCEAP academic handbook(should be a PDF)there’s actually a section that answers a question similar to yours. Check it out! I’ll post te link if I have time later.

As for units, I’m currently on EAP and what I know is that there’s actually no limit on UNITS from UCEAP, however, there is a limit on how many abroad units you decide to apply to your major requirements. For graduation, i dont think where your units came from matters. You can definitely study abroad twice if you successfully complete the applications on time. EAP is quite strict on deadlines, especially for the more popular programs, so as long as you get everything done on time you’re almost guaranteed a spot.

yeah, you would start at the new uc with the same gpa
