I am a second year trying to transfer to UCSD from UCSB as a computer science major. At UCSB, I've been following the schedule intended for my major, but those courses are more difficult compared to the general courses. I got my first C in a math course during the summer, which significantly lowered my GPA; it went from 3.88 to 3.67. And so, that got me wondering, does that kill my chances of transferring? I know transferring from UC to UC is really hard, but I really don't want to stay.

Should I have been taking the easy classes for a good GPA instead of the harder classes if I intended to transfer? At the same time, if I got rejected, I still wanted to be on track for my major here, so as not to waste my time, just in case. :

Is there anything I can do at this point that would make a difference?
