uc to uc transfers

did anyone successfully switch uc's?

come on people I know u are out there!

yeah, I'm at UCSD. I got into UCLA.

great! i am going to ucsd and i want to go to Cal

clairesolo, uc-uc transfer is definitely possible. I was able to transfer from UCSD to CAL, and so were four of my UCSD friends.

There seems to be many disgruntled UCSDers...

hopefully i can follow in your foot steps!

ucsd is not for everyone, i am just planning ahead

to be fair to ucsd, we're all from the bay area...

i am from socal

I'm at UCSD and I was accepted to CAL, but probably not going. You might be asking, why did you apply? My answer: People like Clairesolo. No offense Claire, but it is people like you that bring down the morale at UCSD, which ultimately made me consider switching to CAL. It wasnt that I was unhappy, it was that I was getting fed up with people whining about their rejections TWO YEARS AGO.
Unless you are a prestige-monger, UCSD has a lot more to offer. Judging from sister who is a CAL grad, and my experience dealing with the different departments recently, UCSD is much more user friendly. For example, I was concerned about graduating in four years if I transferred, and the advisor said , and I am quoting, "Don't worry about that, we have a really big 'traffic' problem here. We do anything we can to help you finish in four". I'm sorry, but that doesnt quite fit into my idea of a university education. She even wanted me to come in with a list of questions, instead of just asking what came to mind. She even outright told me that "you are just 1 person, I have hundereds of students in the department to take care of". UCSD's college system really breaks things down, something I took for granted before I considered CAL.
Its depressing to think that people who havent even stepped foot on campus have preconceived notions about UCSD, and even want to transfer before even starting thier first year. If you go in with that attitude, you are surely going to be dissatisfied. Truth is, people are just as unhappy at CAL, but on those quiet nights, they just tell themselves, 'its worth it, I'm at CAL'. At UCSD, people sit in their rooms on those nights and say 'Screw UCSD, I'm bored'. If you are bored in college, especially one with 25,000 students your age going to it, the problem is YOU, not the school.
The grass isnt always greener on the other side. There are unhappy people everywhere, but starting tommorow, I am not going to let those people make me second guess my choice to go to UCSD, cause so far its been the best 2 years of my life.

u have some good points there
