UC Transfer Fall 2008

UCR:
3.42 GPA

Applied to UCI
Good essay, Good recs Major: Sociology

IN? MAybe?
Thanks

Well Im not quite as far down the road as everyone else here, but I'm planning on making a transfer request this fall for the following fall. However, I have some concerns.

First of, Im at UCR right now as a Mech. Engineer major, (we're currently in our 2nd quarter).

Until recently I've had trouble adjusting, along with some problems at home (Dad losing use of left arm for a year, Mom with recent health problems) . But I've finally settled in (a little later than I'd hoped), but all that basically led to a first quarter 2.58 gpa, and at my current pace I'll have an overall of 2.85 by the end of this quarter. How much would a school such as UCSD or UCLA take into consideration an upward trend in grades? Say if I were to do mostly A work over the next 3 quarters? (which know I'm capable of, as I finally realized).

Hiddenpanda, how many units have you completed? And would you consider transferring to a Community College?

Is anybody applying to CS under L&S at Berkeley? If so please send me an e-mail I have a very specific question regarding a part of the forms we have to fill out. Anyone who can see the form can answer you don't have to be accepted.

Yeah I applied as cs

To id BUMMBBUU something,,

I don't think UCI is offering the major yet

This major will begin accepting applications for Fall 2010. Junior-level
applicants with the highest grades overall (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0) and
who satisfactorily complete required lower-division major requirements in
calculus (Mathematics 2A-B), economics (Economics 20A-B), statistics and
accounting (Management 7, 30A, 30B) will be given preference for admission.

Your such a n00b, dmsqlc0415. LOL

Use quotes next time if you're going to bring something back from the dead. I'm searching for "BUMMBBUU something's" post and still can't find it.

what is it with people calling other NOOBS around here? you sound like those freshmen discriminating transfers. disgraceful.

Who cares if they didn't use quotes. I wouldn't bother telling someone what to do. It's like telling you that the "your" should be spelled "you're" the next time it is used in such context.

Anyway, I must say that I hope the brightest are on this board because it looks like there is some good competition out there...

My second post apparently didn't take, what is a n00b anyway?

i think noob is "newbie" for short.

there's a world of difference between being a newbie and being a n00b :)

oh, i just assumed n00b also means newbie. HAHA my bad!

I knew I should've put a side note at the bottom of my original "n00b" post stating that "this is a joke".

Please people, don't be like RCHANG. I don't like to state the obvious.

yeah, where'd RCHANG go anyways? i've been gone for a couple days and am behind on things here on CC.

probably freaked out...
