Most everyone.
Still, I'm wary of what they mean by "fast-track" and "finish in two." I think they want transfers to get in and get the hell out as fast as possible. I for one intend on staying 3 years.

i didnt get this notice?

don't worry I think everyone who apply get it. it has nothing to do with admission

That's strange... anybody else out there get an email from UCI?

Samus: I didn't apply to UCLA because, honestly, I don't want to live in LA. It's a nice place to visit, and I have many friends there, but I go crazy after a few days there. Also, the last time I was there I couldn't breathe from all of the smog. :-/

Yea samus, I got the fellowship e-mail as well.

I got the email too.

you guys should reactivate this thread...we had fun last year w/ ours..I think we had like 9,000 posts

My macroeconomics class this spring, which is really for fulfilling a major pre-req for SDSU in case I'm not accepted to Cal, and no, I'm not an econ major, is offered as credit/no credit at my CC. If I change it to cr/no-cr grading, will that affect anything in regards to transferring to Cal? I heard that CSU looks at cr/no-cr classes as "C" grades for computing GPA, but how does UC consider them?

CR/NC will have no impact on your GPA for the UC system. Just do not take CR/NC courses for major prerequisites and try to avoid taking 5 or more credit/no credit courses.

Anyone know if taking CR/NC courses for pre-reqs is not allowed? For most classes I would see why but what about courses like Intro to C++ or C for non-computer science majors (i.e math or geology majors)?

Most UC's dont allow ANY major prereqs to be taken CR/NC, but check the college catalog to be sure.

really? ok, i was about to make a big mistake but i guess ill check the catalog first.thanks awesomo.

Got an A for my Winter term class, and went ahead and re-updated my application. Actually, I'm just glad to be done with it; composition is like pulling teeth for me. Anybody else getting a grade they want?

Edit: Come to think of it, I just got a wisdom tooth out last week, and if it was between that and writing a five page analysis of some short story, I'd go with another tooth. Actually, it came out surprisingly easily, not the typical experience I guess.

yah.. i got an A on my cultural anthro class for winter term... i updated 1week ago..

4.0 last semester, making my 3rd consecutive 4.0. Now, to deflate my GPA if I'm accepted to UCB.

Congrats. (;

@Ektaylor,
I've decided to maintain my 4.0. (;

i thought CCC grades dont get transferred. ?

They don't, but they still count in the eyes of graduate/professional schools

You might encounter an odd application that will only require your UC GPA, but for the most part the only thing your "fresh start" buys is a clean slate for achieving honors on graduation.

Oh, and just to clarify, I don't have a 4.0; that's just with recent coursework.

Had a professor here tell me that Berkeley has a challenging math program. Challenge is good. (;
