UC Transfer within 1 year

Hello,

I am an incoming freshman at Lehigh University. I recently visited the campus and got extremely homesick and really decided that I would like to transfer out in one year. I am from California, so I would like to move back to California and attend Stanford, USC, or a top UC.

I am aware that you need a minimum of 60 semester credits in order to transfer to a UC, so I was wondering if it was possible to do within one year.

I currently have 15 credits, 12 from AP tests (Biology, Statistics, and Psychology), and 3 from achieving a 700+ on the english portion of the SAT. I was wondering if being awarded those 3 units for doing well on the SAT would also transfer to UC. Also, Lehigh only awards credits for a score of 4 or 5, and I have recieved a 3 on AP World, so would that count towards the 60 for UC since they accept 3s as well?

I am currently planning to take 15 credits my first semester, and take around 19 the second semester. That would put my total credits at 49. If I overload on units my first semester as well, I should be able to get 53, and if I am awarded units for my AP World exam, I would be at around 58 units. I was wondering if I could fill in the rest with an online course?

I also took 3 years of Korean in High School, I heard you get credit for those at UC?

My goal is either UCB, UCLA, or UCSB.
High School GPA 4.0, SAT 1520, rejected from all 3 during freshman application

I don’t know how the transfer amounts will work as far as being able to transfer in one as opposed to two, so I’ll defer to others.

The UCs will give credits for a lot of the AP classes with only a 3. In many cases it will just be for general credit only, not tied to any classes. Or if it is tied to a class, it would be a useless class. I don’t think there would be any English credit unless you got a high AP score in English Lang or English Lit. Your 3 years of Korean would probably satisfy your Foreign Language requirement but you wouldn’t get any credits.

If you really are 100% intent on transferring, wouldnt it be better to just not go, and just go to CC for the year? (That’s a question not an opinion). To me that’s like a super expensive junior college. $50-60K is a lot of cheddar.

SAT - no units awarded as a transfer.
High school Korean - subject credit depending on GE path, but no units awarded as a transfer.
I don’t see you being able to do it in a year.

If you’re homesick already and you’re trying to bail after one year, why not just stay home and go to community college?

^^^^ this.
If you dislike it at Lehigh to the point where you wanna get to a UC asap, you mind as well save yourself money and increase your chances of admission by going to a CCC.
One thing tho… was your gpa 4.0 unweighted? Cuz if that’s the case it’s pretty crazy you got rejected from all 3 of those UCs.
