<p>Is school sponsored health insurance required? Or can it be waived if we have insurance?</p>
<p>I ran a f. aid calculator and I noticed health insurance was included in cost.</p>
<p>You can fill out a waiver if your student is covered by your health insurance plan. They may ask you some things about your health insurance policy to make sure it meets their requirements, but other than that, it’s pretty simple. I’ve done it at two UCs and never had a problem.</p>
<p>I have two kids at two different UCs right now. We got email notifications during the summer when it was time to apply for the waiver. It is a simple online process that takes about three minutes to complete. When your waiver is approved, the health insurance fee for the year will be deducted from the student account. </p>
<p>This waiver application will need to be filled out each year.</p>
