UC vs CSU undergraduate to law school

Hi,

I am a CCC transfer and I am applying to schools this coming fall. I’ll be applying to both CSUs and UC’s, with about one or two privates. I was thinking, should I go to a CSU which may be easier than UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, etc., if I want to have an easier time maintaining a higher GPA? I know that GPA weighs much more heavily on your law school application than where you went to for undergrad. Any advice?

I currently have a 3.9 and my major is Political Science.

Depending on your preferences…a CSU may be very similar to a CCC, and therefore may be easier to maintain the higher GPA. You know that most attendees of the UCs are competitive in their GPAs/SAT scores-is that the environ you would thrive in, or would you wish you hadn’t taken on that challenge?
Remember, the stronger candidates to the T14s will have thrived in the more competitive environs.
Kind of like taking honors vs APs, I would guess.

@caltonde I asked a similar question about UC versus CSU in terms of law school admission a few months ago. Search in this forum for ‘undergrad question’ as you may find that thread of interest
Good luck!

Go wherever you like best. Or is cheapest. A better GPA is better for law school, but you still have to go through the experience. No reason to suffer for a 10th of a point.
