Hey guys, so I'm sending in my UC Application soon, and I looked and found out that I need at least a year of a class in the subject area of world history, cultures, and historical geography. I've only taken one semester of a course that meets this requirement, and my school doesn't offer any other courses that meet the requirement besides the one I took. Do you think they would deny me just for this, and do you think I should just put that my high school doesn't offer a full year of that type of class in the additional information section? Thanks!

Yes. One full year is required. You can satisfy by taking one more semester in high school, or at your local CC, or online. Be sure the one you took, counts.

Do you think a semester course of economics would count? We spent a lot of time preparing for the economic summit in that class, where we got into groups to represent a country, and traded with other countries in a big gathering at a local college, if that helps

It will not; it will count as a history/social science elective.

World history/geography/culture means non-US, not necessarily the entire world, so AP European History counts, as does AP Human Geography and specialized geographic history options (e.g. Asian History, History of Ancient Greece and Rome).
