Can anyone give an estimate of when the next wave is supposed to be? Would in-state L&S (Social Science) still be considered?
Question-
Son got in off waitlist yesterday. He is in-state L&S but was given the “you will need to select” either FPF or Global education. Is this mandatory? Anyone else in this same situation? Additionally the note said these programs are first come first serve and they fill up quickly. What happens to admission status if they fill up? Not sure he wants to opt in to these programs as they cost more.
Thank you
@TechPlus yes I’m instate!
@Gabibob same situation here
Any hope for today?
@SeniorSzn That’s what I’m hoping for. But I have a feeling there won’t be any news until next Friday
Is there any reason why it may be today?
for those of you without the option of the Traditional pathway -
FPF - meant to emulate a LAC type of environment. smaller separate classes for the first semester, but choices in classes are limited (math, R&C, breadth for the most part). I’m not sure where the location of the classes is, or the living arrangements.
Global Edge - you spend the first semester in London. Sounds kinda neat actually. You start in the summer, then study in London in the fall.
I’m going to guess for waitlists that the next batch won’t come until the first set has responded, which I believe they give 5 days for. So that would probably be next week at the earliest.
But why would they wait till the first set responded?
@ProfessorPlum168 what is your take on the fact that they admitted few, if any OOS L&S students? Do you think they will accept us in the next round? I’m very nervous atm
My guess is next week probably after Tuesday but Friday at the latest
Is the second batch much smaller?
I think so. Time to face the reality that i didn’t get into any good schools that I applied to.
They have a set of seats to fill, and they’ll probably continue to fill with waitlisted people until all the seats are filled. I’m going to guess that a small percentage and not a huge percentage will accept for Round 1, so chances are there will be a round 2, but the school has to wait until all people offered in Round 1 has responded or let the due date expire.
It’s really hard to say how the distribution breakdown works between in-state and OOS, since none of us know the complete set of who was offered at this point.
Just checked the CC thread from last year. The second wave was far smaller and mostly L&S and third wave was tiny and mostly rejections
One of my students (OOS, Chemistry major) was accepted off the waitlist yesterday afternoon.
if you got accepted, how long do you have to accept ?
@rmav17 About a week. I got in yesterday and have to confirm Monday night
@punjabae which college you applied to?
