I just wanted some input on what a B.A. econ degree at Cal would entail? A guaranteed job? Also do a lot of companies do a lot of on campus recruiting? And is it hard to get into the economics program since it is a capped major?

Thanks

I’d like it to guarantee a job too. Don’t think any major can guarantee you anything. I heard that there are around 1000 students graduating with an econ degree each year from Berkeley alone. Can all of them get what is generally considered a “good job” ? Probably not.

The job prospects are decent and comparable to Haas if you can perform well during interviews and you are outgoing ( participate in clubs etc.)

You can also do a minor or double major if you are coming in as a Frosh. The coursework for econ isn’t that bad. The econ major is a capped major, but if you satisfy the GPA, you’re admitted. The Haas major is a diffferent story when it comes to admitting students.
