so right now i m still undecide where to go for the rest of my two year...
In UCB condition of admission states you only need a GPA 3.0 or higher to be accept while UCLA said u have to be "good academic stand" which they might recinde you for anytime any reason....
I feel UCB is safer than LA... but i want to go to UCLA so badly.. my admitted GPA was 3.9.. but this semester i think i only can get a 3.5 with an C in my anthro lab class(1unit).. i m lost.. i dont know what to do.. can anyone give me some suggestion? or tell me if any transfer student had rescinde by LA becux they have a "significant drop in GPA"?? i will apprecaite for any reply. thz

UCLA only requires you to maintain your GPA around what was stated in your application. Basically put, they don’t want to see a sharp decline AKA transferitis trend going into LA. As long as your GPA doesn’t drop dramatically, you shouldn’t worry about it. Popular to contrary belief, there really is no national conspiracy to keep us from attending UCLA.

so accumulated 3.9 GPA but this semester might have a 3.5. does it consider a dramatically drop?

3.5 is fine. a major drop would be under 3.0

but my major is Biz Econ… which is a very competitive major… will that affect me chance?

^haha- you sounded like a pirate right there. (“me” chance) Sorry, all things pirate-related amuse me…

But to your situation, I’m in the EXACT same one (Applied & accepted with a 3.9, but I think I might get a B or 2 this semester in a few of my 3 unit classes), but I’m a different major than you are (Poli Sci & Geography).

My Advice: Call the admissions office and ask them! That’s what they are there for!

i did and they tell me to report the grade by june 1 so they can evaluate my case. but the problem is that… the final exam is like the end of may… and they take 7 to 10 business day to reply u… should i just go to UCB? since they only require me a GPA 3.0 this semester? but i really want to go to UCLA tho… plzzz someone give me some advice of wat to do. i m lost

There is no “set GPA” you need to maintain for UCLA, as previously mentioned unless your overall GPA going into UCLA is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than your reported GPA, then there may be a problem. I have never personally heard of anyone getting rescinded by a UC, although I’m sure there are.
Putting it into perspective, a 3.0 this semester should be perfectly fine for most people. If you’re that worried CALL UCLA admissions to ask, but don’t expect a definitive answer. I assure you that once you transfer, problems like this are a dime a dozen, so learn to take things in stride and do the best you can.

Im planning to go to UCLA too. Im majoring in Business Econ and it only needs about 13 major classes. If you are not a math person, then UCLA business econ should be easier for you since a pure econ major requires more math than business econ.
And also, i think UCLA business econ is better if you want to get your MBA or majoring in finance, because you can take both the econ classes and accounting classes.
more importantly, in my own opinion, ithink that business econ is more practical if you want to find a job with your degree.

Kenroark. wat is ur accumulated GPA and what is ur GPA in this semester?

@Bulenight
As long as your overall GPA stays above 3.0 you’re fine. They are not going to turn you away just because you got one C this quarter. Especially considering it’s only one unit.

Relax, you’re not going to get rescinded.

ok… then i will listen to you guy and go ahead to submit my SIR tonight.
thx for you guy’s opinion
