i am actually transferring from UCSB to Cal this year…and because you’re in physics doesn’t mean you have less GE requirements than everyone else. Everyone has the same amount of GE requirements. UCSB has a lot of them…and for me it took me 2 years to finish all my GEs, major pre-reqs, and i even squeezed in a few major reqs. So just make sure you’ve got all of them covered…

wow kitkat7, what was your final GPA right before you submitted your transfer application to berkeley?

before i submitted, it was a 3.84.

I meant I’m a bachelors of science which does has less requirements than a bachelors of arts (1 less D,E,F,G and 1 less special subject requirement). Also between the APs and summer courses I will be able to complete all of the GEs, the entire Math 3a-5c sequence, the chem sequence, and half of the physics sequence. Does that constitue as pre major requirements or something?

oh i see. Then I guess it is possible. Are the courses you listed the pre-req courses for UCSB or Cal? If you’re set on transferring, finish Cal’s major pre-reqs opposed to UCSBs pre-reqs. It also looks good if you complete some of the major pre-reqs as well.

Do you still need to fulfill the GE req of 6 courses of writing as a bachelor of science? Cuz then you would need to take at least 2 writing classes a quarter.

^ i meant major reqs as well

They are the ucsb gen ed requirements but apparently if you complete all the GERs at one UC school then they will count it as the GER for another UC school.

yes, it’s known as uc reciprocity.
