hey i'm going this sunday too. are you at the wilshire place?
I think it's "business casual."
no tips or nit bits.

yah wilshire

I'm going this Sunday also for an interview with engineering department. Any tips to offer?

does getting an interview meen ur admitted for sure? also wot if ur int'l n get calld fo a n interview thn wot?

yeah I am going too. guys, we picked a TERRIBLE day with the LA marathon and all. I wish I had known about that when I signed up. but good luck with the interview itself!

o geez, can anyone give like the direction +detour
dang it i didnt even know LA Marathon was on that day

yes, getting an interview means you are IN. That is the first thing they will tell you when you sit down with the interviewer.

Dress biz casual -- dockers and a long sleeve shirt, clean, polished, leather shoes.

Congrats. Go Bears!

so that means all of us here will see one another before and after our interviews? that's kinda cool.

for sure before the interview

Madamebovary, you might want to call the hotel and ask for the concierge. She may be able to recommend a route based on where you are coming from, or email you a map of street closures, etc.

For all those going on Sunday, what time are you going at? My check interview is at 2:30, but I obviosuly need to leave way early because of the marathon.

Also, does anyone know if this is like some massive event? How many people are there on the 4th and what other dates were there?

The LA marathon is a pretty large event, and so they will close many streets. All of you should have received an email from UCB Regents concerning this problem. The email contains a map of the marathon route.

ok good luck everyone- im heading off for the interview

the lady with the sign-in sheet shakes your hand and tells you that you are officially admitted to UCB. that was kinda nice. and then you get to socialize with very awesome people.

great experience, free food, and really nice professors( who interview you)

Would anyone want to share their interviewing experience? please, I have mine on wednesday

Hahah I was kinda nervous before the interview and totally forgot to check out who out there were the CC people!! x]

Anywayss, when you check-in, the lady will tell you "Congratz!! you have been admitted to Berkeley!!" and then you go into a large room where you can get drinks, flyers about berkeley, majors, housing, study abroad, etc., and where you socialize with other people.
There are also many current Regents scholars to share their experiences (or calm your nerves down before your interview... heh that was my case)
Then the interviewer calls you in. They will try to pair you up with a Cal professor in the field of your interest. My friend for example got an English professor (she selected humanities) and I got an Environmental & Conservations professor (I chose natural sciences).
The interview mostly concentrates in anything that interests you. (I really mean anything... I 've heard that one student talked about tulips for 40 minutes...) Oh yeah, they read your essay, so they might ask questinos about stuff you wrote.

Well that's about it... hopefully it's useful to anyone who's seeing this post :) You are welcome to PM me if you want to ask smth specific. CONGRATSS!! You've been ACCEPTED to Berkeley!! :D

umm...my interview didn't go over as well as i planned. I declared my major as "undeclared (pre Business Administration)" so i assumed that i would be with a business or economics professor. Well when i got there i met with a French professor. Let's just say it was rough. Don't get me wrong i was very thankful to have the opportunity to interview for this scholarship and i thought she was a very nice lady but we just didn't hit it off like I have had with other interviews. At one point of the interview she basically got me to contradict myself by saying that my two desires to study business (history and family) were opposites because i admired the hard work of the old American capitalists back like Morgan and Carnegie and wish to emulate their careers even though i already have business connections with my family meaning i wouldn't have to try very hard to be successful...needless to say im still confused haha. But anyway i got into CAL. Go Bears!

You guys are so lucky! But CONGRATS (:
