I really don't know which to pick! Please help! I can attend UCLA for next to nothing and Cal requires me to take out $7,000 in loans... I live about 20 minutes from UCLA so I wouldn't really leave for college which doesn't sound too good to me. But if I decide to attend Cal, I would hate to have to pay for student loans after I graduate...

Visit both and decide. The campus environments are very different.

If you want to go away to school, Berkeley can provide that experience. A short 1-hour flight to Oakland, hop on BART, and you're there without a car.

Is it $7,000/year or per semester?

It's hard to pass up UCLA for next to nothing, but if it's $7,000/year, Cal's pedigree and the fact that you'd be going away to college is a reasonable price to pay.

What is your intended major?

It's 7000 a year and it's not reasonable for me considering it's about 1/3 of my parents ACTUAL income. My EFC is 0 right now. I'm actually still not sure if I should stick with my major... I put something like immunology for both. Neither college appeals to me, but I didn't get any of my top schools...

Go to UCLA and save the money.

UCLA sounds like a better fit for you.

UCLA no doubt. One of my friends goes there and LOVES it.
