I’m not sure if anyone has ever told you this but there are careers outside the realm of business and medicine.

hahahaha oh RileyJohn people don’t like you much do they? lol

That’s because people are stupid. The average salary from Cornell grads also trumps Brown. So, err, I’d really like to hear one even semi-valid argument on why Brown is better?

Just because it was mentioned on Family Guy? (AS THE ■■■■■■ IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL)

I don’t even go to Cornell, so I have no bias. I’m just trying to reinforce it’s like a known fact that Brown is the bottom Ivy. No questions asked.

Best I can figure out, Cornell requires SATs. Some of us -points to self- are to lazy to take the SATs, and prefer to sit around looking for opportunities to tell random people online that they have 4.0s at a CCC. :)

Usually, when someone calls everyone in the thread “idiots,” they are actually referring to themselves.

^ statistic please.

come to UCLA! trust me… not just academically. overall it’s a great school.

^^do it. Cal blows chunks.

^Hahaha. classy

rileyjohn, the reason why cornell grads have a higher starting salary is because most of them decide to stay in new york, which has a much higher cost of living then say, providence. a portion of brown grads start work in ny, but most of them do not.

^and he is beowulf so he can’t lie.

you dare insult beowulf?..

That was not an insult by any means.

UCLA: Amazing atmosphere, amazing neighborhood and city its in, amazing social life and friendly people abound (beautiful girls here too… my god, Berkeley needs to step its game up), the campus itself is also amazing, but I think Berkeley has it beat here (whats up with the brick buildings? They look so… tacky… but thats just me). Everything about this place is just amazing, it feels like your part of something you’ve ever felt before. I loved it!

Berkeley: The architecture is perfect here. I love every single building Berkeley has, from its dorms to its social science buildings, this place is ****ing amazing. After my 4th or 5th visit here though… I can’t stand the bums, the general lack of cleanliness around the area (the campus is crystal clean, but thats not the point), and the atmosphere here is geared to a more academic pursuit, compared to UCLA’s balance of everything (from sports to the night life, to the academic and even the frat and sorority life, its perfect in my opinion). I love Berkeley, but after visiting UCLA a few times, Its not going to be that hard of a decision if I get into both. Berkeley is a beautiful campus, but overall, UCLA has a far better mix of academia and social life.

^ i love how ur name doesnt really represent ur choice of school.

lol my sn is so…gay.

Beowulf does not take lightly to such insults

^ Lol!

As far as UC’s go for me:
Berkeley> San Deigo> Los Angeles.

I’ve toured all three, and though UCLA is overall better than UCSD, I absolutely hated the atmosphere of the campus. I’m somewhat sports-oriented (Track, XC, etc…), but UCLA was just an overload, the people were so in-your-face, and I couldn’t care more for USC. Maybe the tour guides just misrepresented the campus, but it seemed like a total misfit for me.

Berkeley is just hands-down better to me. Nicer weather, Bay Area, not located in a secluded rich area like Westwood, superior academics, engaging student population…

But considering Berkeley’s high student depression, bad prospects for graduate school with the deflated GPAs, etc, I would pass it up any day for any of the private colleges I applied to (Stanford, Yale, BROWN, University of Chicago, Pomona College).

didn’t like UCLA’s atmosphere over UCSD? Well that’s a first. I grew up in San Diego and I’ve never heard a single student there rage about it’s on or off campus life…Though I guess I’ve known a couple non-outgoing type people who just want to go to class, study, ect. who preferred the quiet existence SD allowed.

This UCB graduate (BA and MA) told me that only the south half Berkeley is ghetto (UC Berkeley is just about on the halfway line). I would say that UCB is academically prestigious than UCLA.
