@Econtran did you call Ramble about applying? And then they said you the paperworks? I’ll contact them tomorrow…BRAND NEW apt with your own BR…that sounds awesome =)

^ It does. I’m about to call them soon. I’ll let you know what’s happening.

EDIT: Just called, you have to talk to a manager and he/she will email you an application. Also, the Ramble Apartments is not considered as living on campus, but it is on campus.

^ thanks! I just called them and they’ll email me an application now :D

Let me know when you get it, it’s been 20 minutes. Still nothing :(

Also, are you signing with a co-signer?

edit: just got it. exciting stuff.

^ i’m not sure yet-how about you? i’m surprised they’re open today. but it’s good that they are! if the apartments are really 75% full we’d better get ON IT before they’re gone!

Yeah, but i’m wondering. it’s giving the prices of the lease. So it’s 800 a year? or monthly?

i’m probably going to have a co-signer since I don’t have much credit

just received the application, i think the prices listed are per month. but like $50 cheaper for 4/4 hmm.

i really wanna live here, lol! the bike path seems to go directly to the ARC, too. but i’m wondering if dorms would be better for the social aspect? i don’t know anyone at davis and friends recommend i do dorms. but i’m not sure…

I’m not sure either because if it’s 800 per month now. That’s pretty steep & it requires that a guarantor have at least 4x the monthly rent. That’s a lot of bling bling. I might actually live in dorms because of this. I don’t really want to bring my parents into this. lol, but the individual bathrooms are a real incentive.

^ me neither, tbh. the place looks AMAZING but i know there’s way cheaper apartments around the area. but dorms are like 11K for the school year… so idk which way to go. i’ll check out SSA’s maybe.

Those are the resident halls, not the SSA. I’m wondering whether my financial aid will cover the costs of living off campus…

Did you get any financial aid from davis?

what is this about individual bathrooms?

YEAH ! Ramble apartments has bathrooms for each bedroom. It’s freaking awesome.

uckitty- individual br’s are a big plus for me, lol. and the ramble apartments have 'em!

seet0o - i qualify for blue + gold, they offered me a 5k loan, and i get a pell grant. i was hoping for a work study offer but didn’t get one. i could always apply for a position, though. so that’s like an extra ~2k.

Yeah, they said that financial aid would be enough to satisfy the criteria for the lease. Now I’m just wondering whether or not my financial aid offer will be bigger if I live off campus.

I hate being indecisive, I know I’m going to get crappy housing because I won’t know whether I’m going to pick Davis or not until I go to decision day on the 13th. It would have almost been nicer to only get into only one school so I could just SIR and get on with it haha.

okay cool! (sorry to those who always see me post about being poor)

but my mom makes 0, and im not even near 24 yet, and im her dependent, would i potentially get a financial aid offer that gives me enough for a single dorm or one of these dorms with individual bathrooms because how pleased i will be if i learned my toilet would only be used by me.

(for me to keep me in mind for my application for this year)

These aren’t dorms, they’re apartments. You’d have to change your financial aid offer to living off campus.

I am pretty much on the same boat as you. I have a financial aid offer of $9,554.00 for housing, but that’s on campus. I think I’ll be calling the financial aid offer tomorrow to see how things would change if I changed to off campus.

Currently a months rent for these apartments is around $748-758 a month, so it would be $8976-9096 a year. This apartment includes all utilities too!

^ so do you have on-campus housing listed on your FAFSA? would Davis change their offer right away if you adjust your FAFSA housing preference? also, where do you see your financial aid offer for housing?? I don’t see anything like that on my UCD financial aid profile. =0

hmm, about to google them.

so since your financial offer exceeds, shouldnt you clearly qualify?

Yeah, I currently have it listed as on campus. I have no idea how long it’ll take Davis to change this.

The housing offer is on the first page after you login with your ID & year. Its under “Estimated Cost of Attendance” categorized as “Basic Living”. I assumed this was for housing?

@uckitty, that’s my financial aid offer for living on campus, but these apartments are classified as off campus. So I don’t know what my new offer would be if i changed it.
