Has anyone been able to apply for housing yet? Or do we need to wait for an email and then only we will gain access to apply for it. I just signed my SIR thinking i could apply for housing but it wouldn't allow me. Also, are most of you UCD transfers planning on staying in rez or appartment?

Honestly, I have no idea. I’m 25 now so I’d prefer not to live in an area with a bunch of 18-20 year old’s but if there is a 21+ area around campus, who knows?

haha NCB i’m going to be 23 when I start and I feel the same way!! i don’t know if I’m going to davis yet though… i haven’t even heard back!!

@NCB316 They have separate housing for >24 years old students

I’m looking at the housing website of UCD and it seems all confusing for me. Apparently, you need to SIR first then they will send you housing options.

By the way, any recommendation for where to stay ?

I called today to ask them about the housing app and they said it will be posted May 15th.

“But if there is a 21+ area…” Davis is pretty small, I don’t think they have an old folks home. I’m 23+. :D

^ hey so Davis for sure?

^ If I don’t get into Cal… And if I can get the class I need over summer.

bro i am so happy for you,

yay for 23+ students

How can UCD be small ? It’s the largest UC campus…

^ The city, not the school.

@sis thanks! :D

^ Oh got it :)

The small city kinda makes me worry…

I love the college town thing going on in Davis.

It’s like minutes from the state capital. So you can view it like a neighborhood in a city. Not that I would call Sacramento a city… It’s certainly not urban, yet not suburban either.

I like the college town thing too, but I hate the lack anonymity that comes with small towns. I need to be free to do crazy and dumb **** and not pay any consequences.

me too! I’m having a really hard time deciding what I like more, the college town atmosphere at Davis or the party/beach scene at SB… tough call

Hey hey hey now, I’m not saying I’m not going to party, i.e. work hard, play hard; I just don’t want to do it with a bunch of underage kids that don’t know how to do it right. : )

Davis is good for the college town vibe + Sac is 15 minutes away for a decent place to go out, best of both worlds.

If only the weather didn’t suck turds. And they had a better engineering dept.

haha I agree I think Davis does have the best of both worlds. Since I am already in a sorority I think I might try to get a feel for the Tri delt chapter at each school and see which girls I fit in with more… maybe THAT will help me make a decision because I go back and forth 10 times a day haha

I’d probably go with the school that has a better program for your major, it’s only a couple years, anyway.
