Anyone out there also accepting to be on the transfer waitlist? I am accepting the waitlist offer and I am wondering what I need to put for the comments in the application update form. It says on one page that I need to provide estimated spring grades in the additional comment box. On the actual application update form it says to explain and D’s or F’s or dropped classes in the comment box. Do I need to put both estimated spring grades and explanation for D’s and F’s or just one of the two? If I am explaining the D’s/F’s/ dropped classes is that for just Spring 2012 or for my entire college history? Please help thank you!

Hey, I also am on the transfer waitlist
I accepted after talking to a counselor and then I gave the 200 word statement explaining why I should be offered a place in Davis, and then under the update grades I explained my D/F, and then informed them I’m doing very well this semester. The UCD transfer adviser pretty much said that you have to end this semester with a bang to indicate you want to go to UC Davis. Hope this helps and good luck. :)

hey thanks! good luck to you too.

Anyone hear anything yet?

I’m also on the transfer waitlist and I have not heard back from them yet either. I’m starting to freakout already haha

Yea me too. From last years waitlist thread I saw that most people found out on Tuesday June 7. Should be hearing back soon.

Yeah I hope we hear back soon, and I hope it is good news! I emailed UC Davis asking how many people they offered a spot on the waitlist to and they said that they offered 618 transfer students a spot on the waitlist, but I don’t know how many actually opted-in.

Yea saw that on ms. Suns blog. I hope that only half opted in. Judging from ucd and uci’s waitlist, usually about half actually opt in. What makes me nervous is what happenned this year with ucd’s freshman waitlist. It looks like everyone got rejected.

Anybody know if late SIR requests are treated in the same regard as waitlisted students?

OMG my friend got accepted to UCSD today from off the waitlist and I know that some people have been accepted from UCI’s waitlist already. Why is davis taking so long?

I have no idea. Ughh the suspense is killing me. I really thought they would send it out today. They have to do it before orientation starts.

I called the Orientation Office. There is no guarantee that waitlisted transfers will be allowed to attend an orientation. They said to call them if you’re admitted and they will see if they can fit you into a day that your major advisor will be there. If they can’t, she said they would mail you the info, so you can register on your own.

With the whole thing about all the freshmen being rejected…keep in mind transfer students, specifically CCC transfer students are generally their priority, so it could mean that they rejected all of them to leave space for us?!

Have any of you guys gotten housing or anything yet? I’ve already signed a lease because I was scared if I wait until/if I’m admitted that I won’t find anywhere decent.

Also, what are ya’ll majoring in?

That sucks about the orientation. I hope that if we get admitted that we will be able to attend! I have gone to davis a couple of times with my friends who are going to ucd and we looked at apartments but I have not done any housing stuff yet. My major is animal science which makes me nervous because I think uc davis is ranked #1 in the nation for animal science, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I get in anyways haha!

majoring in pharmaceutical chemistry. I have housing set up if I get in but I didnt exactly sign a lease. This waiting is killing me and it makes me nervous as to why they are taking so long.

I emailed davis today asking if they had made any decisions regarding the transfer waitlist and they said that no decisions have gone out for any waitlisted transfers yet. They also said that when evaluating waitlisted students they review the application all over again and that hopefully they will have decisions released by july 1st. I really hope that it doesn’t take until july 1st to get our decision :(

Ughhhh, I concur with you guys completely! I honestly just feel like it’s inconsiderate at this point. The only other school I’d be okay with going to is out of state, which I can’t afford because I won’t get any CalGrants or in-state financial aid. I really hope we all get in just for waiting ~8 months for a decision!

I think today will be the day…

Maybe not… Did anyone else’s admission message change? Mine no longer says the waitlist confirmation message. Now it says a message about receiving my application.

Mines still says the same thing =P

Okay so I just called admissions about it and they said its nothing to be concerned about b/c its been sent out to multiple people. I wonder if this is a bad or good thing. Maybe it just means they have viewed my app already?
