Hello,
I plan on majoring in electrical engineering and I have narrowed down my college options to UC Davis and Cal Poly Pomona. For me cost and location is not an issue and I need some help determining which college is best for my major.
Thank You
Hello,

academically, they are both very good. Davis is a college town and the the whole city basically wouldn’t exist but for the school. it is a really cool environment - lots of bikes (perhaps too many sometimes). IMHO UCD has grown too big and impersonal. That works well for some students but, others don’t respond as well to the big lecture halls and grad assistants for lower division classes… CPP is missing the college town feel and D1 athletics you get with Davis but, lower division courses are much smaller and the profs are a lot more accessible.
I’d really encourage you to visit both when school is in session - talk to some students, maybe sit in on a class or two. One will stand out as the better option for you.
Congrats and good luck
Hello,
Thank you for your response I am planning on visiting both colleges. Also, is UC Davis is a hands-on or is it theory and do students in UC Davis get as many internships and job offers compared to Cal Poly.
Thank You
Both schools are ABET accredited meaning they will have similar curriculums. Both schools have courses with a laboratory component so you will get hands on experience. You can also supplement your academic courses with internships where you will get real hands on experience. Internships and job offers will be up to you and not the school but check out the career center for each school and see which employers recruit from both schools.
