So today I was going on my UC app to finish filling in the stuff I needed to apply for Fall 2016. When I logged into my UC App I noticed there was a Winter/Spring 2016 application. Since I never did this application I decided to check it out. Apparently I have a Pre-Authorized application to Davis for Winter/Spring 2016 (I assume it is pre-authorized because they do not take Winter/Spring applications). A little background; I applied for Fall 2015 and was waitlisted and ultimately not accepted. So I hurriedly hopped on my My Admissions page for Davis and it showed the same thing “Not admitted for Fall 2015… blah blah.” Decided to call their admissions office to get more information. I guess, they do this if they have openings for the upcoming sessions and do this for a select group. He told me nothing was guaranteed and to continue working on my Fall 2016 Application, which I plan to do. He said acceptances should be rolling out starting November 9th. This obviously has me pretty excited for another chance before doing the Fall transfer route again. Anywho, just wanted to see if anyone else had gotten this? I’m a CS Major if that matters at all.
It’s pretty rare to get a winter or spring admit, but not impossible. I personally know one person who did it a couple years ago, but she had very unusual circumstances behind it.
CS is pretty impacted, but I’m not sure how that would affect winter/spring admissions.
Yeah. I don’t have odd circumstances or anything like that. I didn’t even try to do an app for winter/spring it was just automatically done using my Fall 2015 app which I think Davis pre-authorized so I’m hoping that is going to help my chances but I’m doing my best to just stay focused and take care of my Fall app. Thanks for the info!
So what happened? Did you get accepted? I got an email from the UC application website and decided to check my application account; and on the application history there was an application for UC davis for the Winter 2016 quater that was submitted without my knowledge. I was also wait listed for CS and didn’t get in for the fall 2015 quarter.
Called in a coupe times and eventually got told to ignore it.
I was waitlisted for FALL 2015 and was denied. I received winter application email and applied. I mean nothing to loose. Surprisingly I was accepted! YES it is possible. Keep in mind I had a 3.0 going into Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
