UCF Academic Standing

<p>I'm on academic probation at UCF. I'm taking 5 classes. If I start doing poorly in say 3 of them, and I get 2 C's in the other 2, will be at least be on "continued probation," or will I be kicked out? I can't find anywhere online about UCF requiring a minimum number of hours while on probation.</p>

<p>I think you first need to change your mindset. Don’t say “If I start doing poorly in them and get Cs…”. No.Your goal should be to get As, or at least B+s. Next, your best bet is to contact an adviser or someone who can help answer your question completely. I’m just making the assumption that your GPA is under 2.0. If after next semester you still cannot make it above 2.0, then I’m pretty sure you will be dismissed. That’s how it is at my university and most others. If you do well and make above 2.0, you should be off probation.</p>

<p>If you don’t achieve a 2.0 this term, you may be disqualified (suspension):</p>

Disqualified (First Suspension)</p>

<p>A student on Academic Probation is Disqualified upon failure to achieve a minimum 2.0 GPA during the subsequent term. A student who is Disqualified may not enroll at the University for two semesters following disqualification. Readmission after two semesters is not automatic. Disqualified students are required to have completed the Florida AA degree, or have completed UCF’s general education program and Gordon Rule requirements, before petitioning for readmission. A Disqualified student must submit an application for Readmission supported by a letter documenting the reasons for previous academic difficulties, clear evidence of satisfactory academic performance since leaving the university, and plans for achieving a GPA of 2.0 or better. A disqualified student is limited to petition for readmission once per year (365 days). The total record will be reviewed and action on readmission will be taken by the University Registrar. Any Disqualified student whose UCF grade point deficiency is equal to or greater than 30 grade points is not eligible for readmission. For readmission purposes only, “grade point deficiency” is defined as the number of UCF credit hours earned with a “B” (3.0 GPA) grade that a student requires to raise his or her UCF grade point average to 2.0.

<p>Talk with your advisor and keep him/her up to date on how you’re doing. If it looks like you may be disqualified, you may want to withdraw from all of your classes/school before the drop date. Your advisor will point you in the right direction.</p>
