What is UCF Like? Housing? Life? Classes? Sports? Etc. I got admitted and attending for summer 2014 B program and so on.

I’m attending session B I heard it’s all raw tho lollll

I’m attending summer b too and I heard the the classes are easier in the summer, you live in nike or Hercules, and there are some good parties

I’m a current Sophomore here at UCF, who was admitted into the Summer B term back in 2012. Classes CAN be easy, but it really depends on what classes you take, with what teacher, etc. Many incoming summer students walk in with the impression that, ‘Hey, it’s summer classes! Can’t be too bad, right?’ but that’s not correct. Think of it in more literal terms-you are taking a class, that is usually completed in a full semester (3-4 months) and have to learn that material in six weeks, instead-not as easy as everyone makes it seem. But as long as you choose your classes well (For the love of god, do NOT take a math class during the summer term. That’s just asking for failure) you should be fine! Take a psychology, or sociology, or history class instead-get started on those gen eds. Summer, in terms of social life, is not as active, especially among the freshmen. This isn’t because it’s boring, but it’s rather because you summer students have to take your classes very seriously. If you get a D in a class, you aren’t in the same position you are if it was fall semester-UCF can tell you they don’t want you to move on into the fall. The summer secession is a trial time for you guys, to see how you do. So take it seriously, if you hope to see the fall. Don’t worry about parties and clubbing-make sure you make it through summer so you can get into fall and do that stuff then. I may be coming by as blunt, but I know a good handful of people who didn’t move on into the fall semester, and everyone of them were out too late partying instead of studying. You won’t think this will be you-you can’t tell that until you’re given that freedom. School first, play later. Besides that…

The social scene is amazing in orlando-endless parties, great club and bar scene, and disney and universal. Stay in Nike/hercules housing over the summer-very nice student dorms, I loved them and I felt like I was at a resort. Not many sports over the summer, that happens in the fall, especially club sports.
