UCF Chances?

Do I have a chance for UCF? I already sent all my stuff in and I’m waiting now.

GPA (Unweighted): 3.05
GPA (Weighted): 3.52

SAT (CR+M): 1250
SAT (Overall): 1850

I took all honors classes and 7 AP’s during high school. My high school nationally ranked performing arts school. I was a violin player there.
I was in French Honor Society.
I co-founded both The Mickey Mouse Club and Mythology Club.
I was corresponding secretary of the Junior Class Council.
I’ve been playing violin since I was 9 with a private teacher and played in the school orchestra.
I do have a job right now.

I graduated in 2012 and decided to take time off after high school for several reasons. I was not emotionally or mentally ready to go to college at the end of my senior year. I had a really bad time that year. I had two close family members die and I basically gave up on school. My grades went down and I didn’t even care.
Also, I really had no idea what I wanted to study in college and didn’t feel like wasting my time and money while being unsure.
So I took time off and got a job. I really feel like I got a lot of my discipline back since I’ve been working and am so ready to take the next step to go to school and move on to a new phase in my life.

I know these grades are kinda low but do you think I have a chance at all?

You have a chance; your test scores are fine, but your GPA is a bit low. You should have explain in your app, the reason for your grades crashing your senior year, they will take it into account. IF you didn’t, contact the school and see if you can get the reason added to your app.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much!

And yes, I did explain the reason behind my grades in the app.

And thank you for even taking the time to answer. I put this question on another thread days ago and no one has answered. I thought maybe it was a bad sign.

Currently waiting with baited breath though! I’m sitting at home watching for the mail man :)
