<p>Hello fellow comrades, I am a newly graduated senior and soon to be college freshman. I have been accepted into FIU for the summer term, however my first choice is really UCF. The issue is this, the application deadline for UCF was May 1st.. It has been nearly a month and they still have not made an admission decision. I called and spoke with a representative today and she told me that it could be anywhere from a few days to months before getting an actual decision. In order for my high school to send my IB and AP transcripts to a university, I have to give them an official answer on what university I'll be attending by June 1st, and June 1st is also the deadline for me to make my initial tuition deposit at FIU. So, as you can see, I am in quite a dilemma. Should I wait for UCF or should I just move on and invest in FIU?</p>
<p>Did you tell them your specific situation? Did you call FIU and see if you can pay later? If UCF doesn’t want to speed up your app given the circumstances, there’s not much else you can do :(</p>
<p>I called UCF today and the lady I spoke with said that there is nothing they can do and that I just have to wait… I haven’t tried asking FIU if I can pay later, but that’s a good idea

<p>Worse case is that after depositing at FIU, UCF comes calling later. At that point, you can opt to withdraw from FIU, possibly losing your deposit, maybe not.</p>
