I've pretty much narrowed down my choices to two schools that I'm completely torn between, Florida State University and the University of Central Florida. My question is over what school is better for a computer science BS degree. I know that UCF has a lot of hype over how good its CS program is, and I really can't find any worthwhile information about FSU's program. however FSU is still ranked slightly higher than UCF in computer science, I cant tell if its just because its an older, more prestigious school, or if it's actually better. If I could get some information about each of the programs and maybe what kind of companies recruit form them that would really help.

The very small differences in ranking are meaningless at the undergraduate level. Rankings are only useful to get an approximate, rough feel where an institution lies in relation to other similar schools.

For Computer Science, UCF has a peer score of 2.3, and FSU has a peer score of 2.4. They are practically the same. Small differences should be ignored.

You will really need to make this decision based on cost/debt (after final aid), and which school just appeals to you more on a gut level. Apply to both, visit, compare costs, and go with your gut.
