Okay so I planned on transferring from community college (MDC) to FIU for spring of 2018 for computer science. Recently though i changed my mind and thought about going away for college (but staying in state) and I applied to UCF since I heard it was a lot better than FIU. BUT, is it worth going away to UCF rather than just going to FIU? Also I heard FSU also has a good CS program but is it as good as UCF?
As for UF, I know its the best CS program hands down in Florida but I heard you cant get in if you have gotten a C in any of your classes. Is this true? If not I will most likely apply there just to see if i could get in.
(BTW i am transferring with my AA)
Any reply is appreciated! Thank you
UF is competitive, but I don’t think having a C will kill your chances (based on what course that C is in).

UCF’s program is as good as any in the state. If it’s affordable, it is a better option than FIU.
UCF, FSU and UF programs are comparable. As universities, however, FSU and UF are much higher ranked, and better funded (better student services, better student to faculty ratios, better facilities, better sports teams, etc). You really can’t go wrong with any of these schools.
Good Luck!
Hey I’m also planning on transferring from Miami Dade College to another public university in Florida. @Gator88NE do you think i should still apply for UF if my current GPA is a 3.32 and a finance major? i applied to FSU and UCF but im unsure of my chances at getting in
btw i applied for spring as I will be finishing up my last two course this fall which will give me 65 credits.
@LiveLifeFL Finance is a very selective program at UF, but as long as you have a couple of decent back-ups (FSU/UCF), then I don’t see why you shouldn’t go ahead and apply.
Good Luck!
@Gator88NE I hope I’ll get accepted! at least by FSU and UCF even though my GPA isn’t the best.
