UChicago 2022 Waitlist Thread

@Faexpopuli yea you should

I sent it to the admissions office, the international admissions office, and my regional counselor, all of them Answered at different times. But sending it to the counselor is enough, reply time depends on who’s your counselor.

Sending the same things multiple times could just annoy them.

Yeah, it’s quite counterproductive to spam them with the same info. If you want to really make sure your documents are there the portal way seems to be the most surefire. I don’t know why @Legends keeps on advocating for the spam :confused:

Agree, the point is to pester in a charming non-irritating way. Spamming them with trivial information and inquiries will only make you look bad.

I believe this weekend or past (maybe?) was admitted students weekend. They’re extremely busy right now. They’re busy with admitted students and answering their questions. They’ll get to you eventually.

Yeah, SPAMMING AO is “No Bueno”. :smiley:

Has anyone heard of anyone getting accepted off of the waitlist yet?

Hey, just a quick question
Does anybody know how many people applied to UChicago this year? I know around 28000 applied last year, but I can’t find any numbers for this year

FYI - at an admitted student weekend admission officers stated that they sent acceptance letters to 2400 students and that they are hoping for a class of 1700. So, I would assume that they won’t admit from the waitlist until they hear from the 2400 that they sent acceptance letters.

@caymusjordan all schools over admit because of yield. Over the past few years, UChicago has looked at the wait list before May 1. They told my counselor they will be going to the wait list(:

@Ashtash Just out of curiosity, when did they tell your counselor that?

@Waitlist_help About 2 weeks ago

They could have very well already taken people off. The vast, vast, vast majority of wait list applicants are not on this thread.

My counselor may call them this week to check in. If so, I will let y’all know any updated information!

@Ashtrash thank you so much! BTW when you said “they will be going to the waitlist” they meant this year right? And does your counselor have any idea/estimate of when they’ll start giving out offers?

@Panian yes, I managed aid but it’s hardly substantial. I committed because it was still cheaper than my other options.
Good luck to you! Amsterdam is a wonderful place!

I mean I managed aid (very little though) at UW Madison.

And oh the aid was given by the school
