UChicago 2022 Waitlist Thread

Most of us, if any of us on CC, aren’t gonna come out alive. I’ve got two other waitlists too, one of which is willing to make me wait until June 1 and the other mid July. This never ends. All this torture for probably nothing. We are masochists man.

@IAmTheGreatest Relate to you. Sorry man. It is worthless but all we can do is wait. And it hurts like anything

Guys has any1 gotten in touch with their AOs lately? Mine hasn’t gotten back in 2 days…

@cutecrab I think that right now they’re probably super busy and won’t reply to emails. The only people on this thread who seem to be getting through to their AOs are those who are directly phoning in.

That’s right

No clarification but I have looked at this from every side & I surmise that from May 1-15 is crunch time. They will take people off the list. The $10,000 question is, how many?..

I am on five waitlists so this is absolute torture for me too.

@clvmsy oml I’m on two and I thought that was hell (not really attached to berkeley though). Good luck.

I’m gonna guess 20-40. That’s an optimistic estimate, too.

I emailed mine yesterday, and she got back to me within minutes, however, it was a question that was super simple to answer. Don’t read into anything. They’re busy all the time. Some have more to do than others. As the deadline is rapidly approaching, I’m sure they’re putting in an effort to help out those who are already accepted

I got an email from my regional counsellor saying that " Although we are still counting our responses, at this point, the class appears to be almost, if not entirely, full. Additionally, our international aid budget has been fully utilized. " This time, I really have to let go :frowning: sigh…

Did any international get off the waitlist?

My RC wrote me today that they will make final decisions next week and by mid-May if not sooner everyone will get their decisions.

Sigh. This is torture. I am so trying to move on.

And how full is almost full anyway? Looks like they need two people or something.

@cutecrab probably means that they’re mostly likely going to be full/overenrolled after the final wave of May 1 enrollment.

@reindeercoffee So in other words, we should all just pack our bags and let it go. Sigh. I still have 2 left.

@IAmTheGreatest did you get accepted to your other waitlists? Damn the waiting game sucks

Maybe there’s hope for the gap year option, maybe there isn’t. I’m going to try to stop holding my breath on this because I know we shouldn’t. Hope the rest of you can too

I wonder if they have already made decisions and are just informing people on a rolling basis or if they are still making decisions.

@fakemonk According to the previous poster, they are still making last minute decisions. However, it seems that most have been made already and those are rolling.
