You should know if they contact you (caller Id)
@CPTsymmetry
I am an international too.
Past threads say that your regional counselor asks you when you would like to have a call and calls you after you confirm it. It’s supposed to be a casual mail.
So I sent in a letter of continued interest, but I haven’t received a response from my counselor. Is that normal?
@musicmist288 I wouldn’t read into it. They’re really busy right now.
@cutecrab
Oh cool. I just changed my email notification time so that I’m not constantly checking my phone
So what majors did you guys select when applying? I selected Molecular Engineering. Although I really wish UChicago had regular engineering majors as well
Applied for History. Hopefully, all the History Majors go elsewhere…
Any other internationals here? Did you apply for aid?
@fakemonk cool! My sister actually attends UChicago and she said their history courses are some of the most interesting courses she’s taken at the university!
Yup, applied for aid
So hopefully that’s not too much of a disadvantage when their reviewing waitlist candidates hahaha
@fakemonk . D is an international applicant. Applied for a communications major. And yes, she has applied for a financial aid… I be heard that it reduces chances of being taken off the waitlist…
yeah i heard that aid may decrease your chances
On the bright side, if you applied for aid and they waitlisted you, it shows that they are still willing/able to cover a students financial aid, otherwise they would have just rejected you.
Yes. We like to believe that
I saw in one of the posts the previous years that if you are international and applied for aid, you would not be chosen off gap year waitlist…sad
@fakemonk she hasn’t opted for the gap year anyway…
So the chances are even slimmer
@fakemonk maybe the number of international students chosen is small, but then again, it also depends on how many international students were waitlisted.
@Panian oh, why didn’t she choose the gap year option?
everyone I hear from got waitlisted…do you guys know anyone rejected rd? Or did they just use waitlist as rejection this year?
