May I apply to more than 1 uni ED/EA?Or I should apply only 1 ED/EA and the other RD?

I wanna go so bad!

Does it make a difference when you are the only one applying from your school?

^ more competition for you as an individual.

There’s 2 kids I know of who are applying to UChicago at my school. They’re both good friends and pretty smart. One of them only got a 28 on his ACT though and I don’t know what the other got, probably 30+.

I’m the only one applying from my school. Most people at my school don’t have a clue about what UChicago is.

@AlexandraD: Why would it be more competition? The majority of people at my school want to go to a school in-state for some reason… even people in the top 10%. Texas just loves Texas, I guess. It’s just weird to me, because it’s not like there aren’t people who can get into Ivies and etc.

So far, I only know of one other person at my school applying, but I am sure that there are more lurking around.

I’m applying EA! :)

There are usually at least 20+ people who apply early from my school though. Talk about competition.

UChicago is indisputably my first choice. I plan on majoring in Molecular Biology and hopefully doing Pre-med. Good luck, all!

im applying ed to northwestern and ea to uchicago.
i go to a decent public school in los angeles.

I’m touring and such in a month! I like it more and more whenever I look at it. Potential Poli Sci and public policy analysis major, human rights minor.

Just read this on Wikipedia. Hilarious!

[Ivy League - WikiCU, the Columbia University wiki encyclopedia](Ivy League - WikiCU, the Columbia University wiki encyclopedia)

Ivy “Should-be’s”

There are several universities which many believe are equal to the Ivies in endowment and academic achievement (and surpass many significantly in terms of such indicators of excellence like the Nobel Prize). These include such schools as the University of Chicago, Stanford University, and MIT. Of course, regardless of what prestige whoring students from those schools and their ill-informed parents say, these schools are not officially Ivies. However, many would gladly trade Dartmouth, Brown, and Cornell for Stanford, Chicago, and MIT straight up. Many would also kick the University of Pennsylvania (aka Penn State) out for good measure.

I love Chicago’s core program and just the atmosphere. 2240 SAT, 35 ACT, think I have a chance?

I love the atmosphere too! I go to a residential high school in North Carolina so I visited on one of our weirdly scheduled breaks in November, but I loved it. From everything I’ve heard about UofC it’s all about your essays, so I can’t wait to see the topics.

Haha yea they’re crazy about essays. At an info session they had, the rep said that one year the question was ‘how do you feel about Wednesday?’ So a lot of people wrote about Wednesday being the middle of the week, etc, but their favorites were the surprisingly high number who wrote about Wednesday Adams from the Adams family lmao…

Let’s hope they don’t ask people how they feel about Friday. It’s Friday, Friday…

This should help you out!

gotta get down on Friday.

Once I get my AP tests over with, I’m going to go on the official tour. I went on an unofficial visit with my best friend who is currently a freshman, but I didn’t do the actual tour and info session.

But I really love the scholarly atmosphere of UofC. And the campus is beautiful. When I visited my friend, temperatures reached -4 degrees, but it was still really nice.

Is Chicago a friendly campus?
