I chose the arch-nemesis prompt. I had a very fun time with that one
I chose the modern improv comedy prompt. It was really fun to write and probably my favorite college essay. I almost exceeded the suggested word limit, though.
The suggested word limit really means nothing though… i emailed my admissions councilor and he said as long as i didnt go passed 2 pages single spaced i was fine. so i did about a page and a half.
does anyone know when release date for EA is?
I predict the 16th based on past years. Nobody knows for sure.
@tutututututuru if nobody knows for sure, how will we learn when it’s out? Will UChicago just send out an email on some random day saying decisions are out?
I’m assuming there will be an e-mail a few days in advance. That’s how other schools have done it in the past
Hey guys! I’ve been lurking on the UChicago forum for a while but I’ve never posted anything before. I was just wondering what makes you think decisions will come out on the 16th? In the past two years, didn’t they come out on the 17-18th? If it’s the 16th, it could be the best or worst birthday ever…
Yeah, those were always the Wednesday after the 15th, which is what the 16th is this year
@actssmart That’s what I meant, I saw that the suggest word limit was 1-2 pages single spaced or 500-1000 words, and my essay was around 960.
how will they send out decisions this year?
@CoolGurl101 They said they will send an email notification saying that our decision is ready, and then I think we have to log in to our UChicago accounts to get them.
Would it just be an online letter or is it like some other schools where they have the videos?
I have no idea about that… I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

kinda late to ask but oh well- will submitting 6 recs be too much and be frowned upon? I mean they did give room for 6 and i felt each one was important in conveying who i am
As long as they were high quality I’m sure it’s fine or they wouldn’t give you room for 6.
6? I only sent 2 haha. I mean if they are all good and not redundant, I don’t see why it would be bad.
I sent 5 (including counselor), should be fine (3 teacher and my research mentor)
@CoolGurl101 For some reason the thought of a video telling me if I’ve been admitted or not is way worse. I really hope the decision is delivered in text form…
